This past week we premiered Season 26, Episode 1, Cupid Ye! Here are some dancing poses based on The Pretty Girl Walk tiktok trend done by Keo, George, Greg, and Angie. Here is the ultra cute(and ultra creepy) cutie face filter on Kyle and Tolkien done by Shaina.
Here are several boards for our episode, “Cupid Ye”. It’s the final showdown between Cartman and Cupid Ye done by our talented Greg and Keo!
That Silly Cameo Petition Again
Hey, the petition to thank the animators and bring some new cameos to South Park, from fan favorites like Gregory, Mole, Thomas, Gary and more, is sitting at around 219 signatures... really hoping we can get that number a little higher before it's sent in tonight.
The goal was to get our signatures in by the premiere date, but we've added a few days hoping to capitalize on the new activity from the season premiere.
If you saw the old music teacher in the new episode "Cupid Ye", or spotted Jason White sitting at lunch again like nothing happened, if you noticed Sally Darson a few seasons ago rolling her eyes at Larry Zewiski, this is about thanking animators for bits like this and hoping to see more moments like this with other fan favorites!
I can all but guarantee this WILL be seen by someone in the studio, and each signature is more reason for them to actually read it and more chance for them to pass it around the animation department at the studio.
Continuing from my previous post on MIComputerTech and RoamingBerry’s TSOT research, here’s the Kyle’s Treehouse level, a version of which was included in some beta and demo versions of the game.
A large cardboard fort surrounds Kyle’s Treehouse, with two look out
perches, manned by Jake from Rainforest Schmainforest (we had no idea he
was scrapped; maybe I should do a history on him?) Before you can take
out both posts though, you would have to travel through “the Outlands“,
which Leroy would warn you was home to a ‘dragon’. This area, a small
fenced additional area of Kyle’s yard would reveal a tree with ‘Kyle +
Rebecca’ carved in (how romantic!) and a few tents around a tool shed
and a basketball hoop, where Fosse and Bill plan to sacrifice Wendy to a
dragon!
After defeating the boys freeing Wendy, the dragon escapes the shed and turns out to be… Ike on a tractor! This is a pretty entertaining setup for a boss battle, and can draw some fun comparisons to FBW’s first level… after this, you can take down the fort and make your way up the treehouse, engaging in a few more battles before Kyle tries to seek your allegiance. It follows like a prologue to the later Battle at the School (though I’m unsure that existed yet?) and I think it adds a lot more to Kyle’s role in the game and the elves’ faction.
You would be assisted during your mission by Cartman, Scott Malkinson, Tweek, Pete the Goth Kid, and post-rescue, Wendy, although only Cartman would accompany you into battle.
In these early versions of the game, it seems that Cartman’s effort to recruit your character is due to the sheer numbers of Kyle’s followers, which here includes a number of background characters who don’t have big roles in the final game -
Leroy/Peter Mullens, Bradley Biggle, Fosse, Bill and Jake join Kyle, Stan, Jimmy, Jason, Dogpoo and Chris, doubling the named followers. There’s an implication that Kyle’s willingness to accept the nerdy and unpopular maybe the reason for his wider followers, as it’s mentioned by Gerald and a few elves.
